We are looking for a dedicated and innovative Manager of Performance Engineering to join our esteemed Performance Engineering CoE.
This critical role is suited for a seasoned professional with strong expertise in performance engineering.
You will lead multiple projects and/or a large program consisting of multiple testing tracks, from planning and execution to resolution.
You will also drive a culture of continuous testing and quality, focusing on shorter cycle times, best practices, standards, and continuous improvements to optimize performance and accelerate delivery cycles.
This role requires a mix of technical leadership, staffing, strategic planning, and process improvement to drive efficiency and innovation in performance engineering.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Define, implement, and optimize performance testing and engineering strategies for high-scale, high-availability systems.
* Conduct hands-on performance testing, bottleneck analysis, and fine-tuning for applications, microservices, and cloud environments.
* Improve efficiency of cloud-based, SaaS, and containerized applications, ensuring scalability and cost optimization.
* Work closely with development, DevOps, SRE, and infrastructure teams to integrate performance best practices across SDLC.
* Contribute to the Performance Engineering CoE, driving continuous improvements, AI/ML-based analytics, and automation strategies.
* Define performance SLAs, KPIs, and governance models to ensure adherence to performance standards and business objectives.
* Hire, mentor, and manage a team of performance engineers, fostering skill development and career growth.
* Analyze production performance issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive solutions.
* Provide performance insights, reports, and recommendations to leadership and product teams to drive decision-making.
* Exposure to application threading and concurrency concerns
* Proven ability to work in a team and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
**Preferred Skills:**
* Experience with AWS cloud platforms and technologies.
* Experience with JMeter, LoadRunner, Sitespeed.io, NewRelic , AWS CloudWatch.
* Exposure with, Xray, GitHub, Grafana, etc.,
* Exposure with Service Virtualization, Frontend performance optimization
* Knowledge of chaos engineering principles and practices.
* Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
* Ability to work with Java, Python, or similar language
**Qualifications:**
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field.
* 14+ years of experience in performance engineering
* Strong experience of performance testing&engineering tools and methodologies.
* Experience with performance profiling, monitoring, and tuning of complex systems.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment
* Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
* Ability to steer organizational vision and strategy
