Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Job Specialty: Respiratory Therapy Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day, M-F, shared weekends and nights on call Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a clinical setting, or a new graduate with strong recommendations License: Active and current licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NRP within 6 months of hire;
OSHA Respirator Fit Testing certified within 3 months of hire Must-Have: Associate's degree in Respiratory Care;
Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications Job Description: - Provide respiratory care, assessment, and therapy delivery to patients as requested by physicians.
- Work in various settings including inpatient, outpatient, emergency services, and home care environments.
- Perform procedures with minimal assistance, such as intubations, cesarean sections, aerosol delivery, and patient assessment and care planning.
- Demonstrate professional behavior both on duty and as a representative outside of work hours.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels within the organization.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with patients, visitors, and facility staff.
- Demonstrate organizational ability and time management skills.
- Produce deliverable products on time with minimal direction.
- Compile and organize data, making appropriate recommendations based on the information obtained.
- Maintain organized records upon request for the tasks performed within the scope of the job.
- Communicate clearly with directors, managers, and coworkers.
- Perform all assigned tasks accurately, ensuring proper spelling, grammar, and minimal mathematical errors.
- Take directions from others, including those in temporary collaboration departments, following the chain of command.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information, including payroll and personnel data.
- Use office machines effectively when performing job functions.
- Answer phone calls and assist the public professionally and courteously, forwarding inquiries as necessary.
- Willing to assist in emergency department transport via ambulance.
- Adhere to dress code requirements, maintaining a neat and professional appearance.
- Complete annual education and regulatory requirements.
- Wear identification while on duty.
- Attend annual evaluations and actively participate in the process.
- Report to work on time and complete work within designated hours.
- Attend all relevant meetings.
- Exhibit the mission, ethics, and goals of the organization in job performance.
- Be willing to work beyond regular hours and temporarily in other roles if necessary.
- Maintain personal integrity, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively with personnel, clients, and support agencies.
- Meet physical requirements including sitting, standing, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs, walking, and moving intermittently during work hours.
